Procurement Lead – Indirects

A growing multi site organisation is looking to appoint a Procurement Lead to establish and develop its procurement capability.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a standalone role with responsibility for shaping procurement strategy, improving supplier management, and introducing greater structure and governance across a c.£20m spend (covering food and beverage, utilities, and operational consumables such as linen, waste services, and cleaning materials).
This role will work closely with operational teams across the business and offers a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building procurement capability, driving cost efficiencies, and influencing stakeholders in a fast paced environment.
Salary: Up to £70,000
Location: Christchurch, Dorset – Hybrid (3 days on site per week)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the organisation’s procurement strategy
- Lead sourcing activity including tenders, supplier negotiations and contract awards
- Manage a c.£20m spend portfolio across areas including food & beverage, utilities and operational consumables
- Introduce procurement processes, governance and supplier management frameworks
- Identify and deliver cost savings through strategic sourcing and supplier optimisation
- Build strong internal relationships with operations, facilities and finance teams
- Develop spend analysis, savings tracking and supplier performance reporting
About You:
- Procurement professional with experience managing multi category spend, ideally across operational and facilities related categories.
- Comfortable operating in a standalone or greenfield procurement environment
- Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management skills
- Experience introducing procurement structure, governance or sourcing processes
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
