A well-established public sector organisation based in Bournemouth is looking for an experienced Procurement Category Manager to lead the Academic and Professional Services category within a high-performing procurement team.
This is a strategic role with responsibility for managing complex, high-value public procurements, delivering value for money, and ensuring full compliance with public procurement legislation across a diverse spend portfolio of up to £60m.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading end-to-end category management across Academic & Professional Services
- Delivering complex tenders, frameworks and contracts in line with PCR 2015 & Procurement Act 2023
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to shape procurement strategy and investment decisions
- Driving cashable and non-cashable savings, risk mitigation and supplier performance
- Leading cross-functional evaluation teams and managing robust contract award processes
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience delivering public sector procurement at category level
- Strong knowledge of public procurement regulations
- Track record of value delivery and savings
- Confident stakeholder manager with excellent commercial and negotiation skills
- CIPS qualified or working towards (desirable)
