This is a truly amazing opportunity for an experienced procurement leader to join a large global business, who are going through a huge transformation and oversee the group procurement function, developing and driving the success of a large and matrix procurement team.

Suitable profiles would be people who have managed a significantly sized team, engaging with C-suite stakeholder base and that have developed, structure, recruited and improved a procurement function, whether a current Head of Category, Head of/Director of Procurement.

Open to industry background, however regulated industries could be a preference such as Pharma, Banking, Financial Bodies, Insurance, Defence, Life Sciences or Financial Services.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Reporting into the Group CPO, to define the strategy across IT, Technology, Professional Services, HR, FM, Property, Marketing and Travel
  • Manage, oversight, development, recruiting and procurement function overall strategy
  • Engaging with senior-stakeholders across the business, ensuring each business area is receiving the highest level service with long term, strategic contracts in place
  • Evaluate overall procurement performance, objectives and process and redefining processes when needed
  • Continuously develop and improve the functionality of the procurement department, reviewing performance that the team are obtaining best value from all suppliers
  • Create a Procurement Centre of Excellence, looking to compete in the industry to having a known leading procurement function
  • Occasionally still have an element of doing strategic, high level and complex procurement projects when dealing with high value contracts, with the company Tier 1 supplier base
  • Be fully accountable for the team, welfare, achievements, bonus, reviews and promotions

Experience and requirements:

  • Proven years’ of experience working in a leadership role, for a global, matrix and complex business
  • Been involved in a large scale business and procurement transformation would be advantageous
  • Ideally managed members across various areas of Indirect procurement rather than a career Category Specialist
  • Confident in negotiating with, influencing and presenting to the Board and C-suite Execs
  • Managed and been responsible for significant addressable spends in the £100m’s with global stakeholders
  • Be able to bring a wide supplier market and knowledge into the business
  • Culturally adaptable and conscious to understand a territories climate and regulated supplier usage
  • Recruited, disputed, developed and promoted team members in a prior company
  • Degree, Masters or MCIPS is preferable (not essential)
