A leading renewable energy organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Procurement (IT) to lead strategic sourcing, supplier management, and commercial governance across a high-impact technology portfolio.
This 12–16 month fixed-term contract is ideal for a senior procurement professional with deep expertise in IT and digital procurement, looking to make a difference in a purpose-led, future-focused business.
Salary: £85,000–£90,000 + 20% target bonus (up to 40%) + Benefits
Location: UK-based | Flexible Hybrid Working in either of their locations across the UK

About the Business
Our client is a major player in the UK’s renewable energy sector, with ambitious growth and sustainability goals. Procurement is a key strategic function in supporting operational efficiency, innovation, and digital transformation across the organisation.
The Role
As Head of Procurement – IT, you’ll lead sourcing and supplier strategy across all IT categories, including SaaS, cloud infrastructure, licensing, and managed services. You’ll influence senior stakeholders, ensure compliance, and drive supplier performance – all while delivering value and supporting the business’s transformation journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic IT procurement across OPEX and CAPEX spend
- Manage end-to-end sourcing and tendering processes, including renewals and complex negotiations
- Partner with tech stakeholders (CIO, IT leaders) to align procurement with business goals
- Build strong supplier partnerships and ensure value delivery from major tech vendors
- Embed procurement best practice, governance, and regulatory compliance
- Develop a 3–5 year IT procurement roadmap in collaboration with business leaders
- Lead and develop a team of procurement professionals focused on technology spend
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Senior procurement leader with a strong track record in IT category management
- Skilled in complex contract negotiation with major tech providers (e.g., Microsoft, AWS, Oracle)
- Demonstrates strong commercial acumen, stakeholder influence, and governance knowledge
- Experienced in regulated or large-scale infrastructure/energy environments (desirable)
- Comfortable navigating change and driving transformation
- MCIPS or equivalent qualification preferred
Salary & Benefits
- Base Salary: £85,000–£90,000 (Fixed-Term Contract)
- Bonus: Target 20% (up to 40%) – based on company performance, paid annually
- Pension: Defined contribution scheme – up to 10% employer contribution
