Working from home may be the dream for some people however it’s not for everyone.
Isolated working can affect your mood and motivation. Here are a few tips to keeping on top of your motivation and starting your day off the right way.
- Set an alarm – Creating a routine for your morning will lead to higher productivity levels and your brain is already awake and raring to go. This doesn’t have to be getting up and going to the gym at 5am, this could simply be making a coffee and catching up on the news or your favourite book.
- Make sure you have breaks. – It’s so important to take breaks in your working day. At lunch time take that time to get out and get some fresh air and vitamin D.
- Have a dedicated work space – Make sure to have a dedicated area in your home so you can get in the zone and stay focused, away from distractions such as the TV!
- Change up your environment – There are so many shared offices that you can have access too, this is also a great way to network and meet new people! We use The Foundry in Poole and WeWork when we want to get together as a team in London.
- Get dressed! – Its amazing the effect on what you’re wearing has on your mood and motivation. We aren’t saying get dressed up in a suit everyday to work from home but there will be a difference in how you feel if you just sit in your pyjamas everyday!
- Communicate expectations – You may still have some company from your family whilst working from home so its important to explain your expectations and create boundaries
- Make it personal – Above all its important to figure out what works best for you!
The team here at Talent Drive love the flexibility and comfort of working from home however we all love getting the opportunity to meet up as a team whether that is in the office, on a team activity day or over lunch. When we are together we use this as quality time to catch up, brain storm new ideas and share whats going on in various sectors.
