A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Lead to take charge of Consumables and Equipment procurement within a fast-paced and high-profile retail environment. This role is ideal for an experienced procurement professional who can develop and execute category strategies while leading a high-performing team.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for a diverse catalogue of operational products, including packaging, paper & plastic consumables, and distribution centre consumables.
- Deliver savings targets through robust sourcing events, ensuring suppliers provide the best value while meeting operational requirements.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiating contracts that drive efficiency, sustainability, and innovation.
- Lead and develop a team of four procurement managers, providing guidance and mentoring to enhance capability and performance.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders across the business to align category strategies with corporate objectives.
- Partner with technical teams to ensure all sourced goods meet ethical and quality standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team, at least two direct reports.
- Proven track record in procurement, contract negotiation, and category management.
- Ability to challenge the norm and introduce innovative procurement solutions.
- Experience in leading large, multi-million-pound sourcing events.
- Retail procurement experience is preferred but not essential—an adaptable and strategic mindset is key!
