A fantastic opportunity has arisen at a well-known European Passenger Transport Partner firm, to hit the ground running as a Procurement Operations Manager.

The role is hybrid 2/3 days a week in either London, Birmingham, or York. This role will report into the Head of HR/FM Procurement and would be part of a large European team.

What the role involves:

  • Ensure operationally the company operates efficiently and within policy.
  • Support the Central Procurement methodology, by managing the financial performance of the department against targets, proactively highlighting under/over performance and potential risks.
  • Support Head of Category in the delivery of procurement projects.
  • Delivering a broad range of sourcing activities across categories but primarily HR & Facilities Management.
  • Responsible for spend analysis and supplier market research (where appropriate developing a portfolio of market intelligence)
  • Tender evaluation and supplier selection processes.
  • Development of supply chain capability to meet future business needs and deliver agreed savings targets.
  • Good senior stakeholder management (internal/external) and developing specifications collaboratively with internal stakeholders, with input from suppliers where appropriate.
  • Management of supply risk and contract implementation.
  • Deputising for the Head of HR & FM Procurement when on holiday or absent with sickness.
  • To produce management Information, reporting, and semi-complex data analytics.
  • Supporting the Procurement team to drive the category and sourcing strategy through sourcing projects, identified cost-saving benefits and timeframes for category development.
  • Undertaking the contract management for specific contracts developing SLA’s and KPI’s, ensuring suppliers deliver KPI reports and spend analysis as appropriate.

The person we hope to find:

  • Procurement experience (minimum 2 years), some experience leading the full end to end procurement process.
  • Experience working in HR/FM Category desirable, but not a must.
  • A Self-starter who is results-driven with high levels of self-motivation, energy, and initiative
  • Good decision-making skills – ability to balance conflicting interests.
  • Ability to manage a wide range of supplier relationships, communicating with impact and engaging effectively with senior Stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with data analysis experience and skillset.
  • Good Excel Skills, with ability to perform, pivot tables, look ups, slicers, and dashboards.
  • Knowledge of risk management and contract management.
  • Degree level educated in business or equivalent industry experience.
