Procurement Manager – Construction and Engineering, Surrey

Initial 12-month FTC, £45-55k per annum + 7% bonus and great benefits



There are exciting changes afoot in this well-known Engineering company in Surrey at their impressive UK HQ.  Due to growth within the business, they have an additional headcount for an initial 12-month fixed term contract to come in and lead some key strategic projects across capital expenditure and construction (specifically ground construction). While a Construction/ Capital Expenditure would be an advantage they are more interested in solid category management experience in FM could also work or if you have any mechanical or electrical experience that would also be an advantage.


This company is continuingly looking for ways to develop the Procurement function and evolve so things like sponsoring CIPS and additional qualifications is very much considered here. The role reports to the Head of Facilities Management.


What the role involves:

As a Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing key strategic contracts, identifying opportunities for consolidating spend and undertaking tendering and contract management opportunities for a wide range of requirements with initial focus on construction categories.

Lead the Procurement function ensuring category spend is managed effectively and to drive quality and cost savings for the organisation as they continue to grow.

Manage a new supplier on boarding and contract performance management programme to include SLA and KPI implementation.

Manage the materials supplier base to ensure that Estimators have access to up-to-date cost information

Ensure procurement support is provided to other improvement projects across the business.

Lead the improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of just in time deliveries throughout the supply chain.


The person we hope to find:

Strong end to end procurement sourcing and category management experience

Category experience in FM, Construction or Engineering is key

Excellent communication skills and able to work with all levels of management and stakeholders.

Well organised, process and team-oriented with the ability to prioritise quickly

Highly motivated self-starter; ability to initiate and manage work with minimal supervision

Commercially aware and financially astute with recent experience in Construction category

Ideally you will be CIPS qualified


Salary and Benefits:

£45-55,000 + 7% bonus + up matched pension, 25 days holiday, private healthcare and flexible working
