Procurement Bid Manager


A unique opportunity has come up in a world recognised FTSE 100 brand who due to an internal promotion in the Procurement Team are looking for a brand new Procurement Bid Manager to oversee bid management for 3 core business areas. This is a newly created role and will have an international reach, with a large supplier base as this organisation looks to raise the profile of Procurement. The preferred candidate will have ideally come from a Bid Management environment, but this must be within a Procurement role and the organisation will also consider candidates with strong change management expertise too. The role reports straight into the Procurement Director and can be based in either their Hampshire or London site but offers flexible working/ home working as part of the company policy.


What the role involves:

Provides procurement management and support to specific bids and provides the key interface between a specific Bid Team and the relevant Procurement Category team within Global Procurement function.

Responsible for setting bid supply chain strategy and any associated make vs buy decisions.

Works with the Bid Team on developing a detailed transition plan for phasing in/out of supplier contracts at contract start and identifies associated procurement costs, assumptions, risks and issues.

Responsible for leading all Procurement processes for a transition, delivering the supply chain developed as part of the bid and the associated savings for the transition team.


The person we hope to find:

Proven bid management experience within a procurement setting.

Demonstrates track record in supplier selection, negotiation and complex contract. management, delivering cost, revenue and profit targets.

Experience of risk identification, evaluation and mitigation and liaison with legal support to develop appropriate contractual protections for bids.

Has proven commercial acumen with excellent negotiation skills.

Will have worked in a complex changing and ambiguous environment with demanding business objectives in a competitive market sector.

Ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders, establishing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships

Ability to work effectively with procurement colleagues within a matrixed Procurement team.


Salary and Benefits:

£65,000- £75,000 + £4000 car allowance + 20% bonus + matched pension contribution + private healthcare
