A phenomenal, global FMCG brand are seeking to appoint an experienced Indirect Category Lead to join their ambitious team due to continuous growth.
Their offices are based in Hampshire, and you can go in as often as you like or on a hybrid basis as they offer excellent flexibility to promote a healthy work-life balance. On the days you choose to work from their modern office space you can expect a free gym onsite, canteen for all employees, fresh fruit, and juices/hot beverages in addition to this they fund and support CIPS training to those who are interested in studying the course, 25 days annual raising each year plus bank holidays, clear career progression and yearly pay reviews
Key Responsibilities
- Develops expert knowledge of supplier marketplace for different categories of spend
- Conducts an in-depth analysis of spend data (using SAP reports, Coupa and expense information)
- Develops an in-depth understand of the business requirements (assurance of supply, quality, service, cost and innovation), for each of the categories to create best in class Source plans
- Forms and leads cross functional teams to manage the delivery of the sourcing strategy
- Leads RFI and RFP process and analysis of responses
- Leads the preparation for and execution of commercial and contract negotiations.
- Knowledge of Contract law and works with the legal team to ensure all commercial and legal risks are mitigated
- Designs and implements supplier relationship strategies which are tailored to the business’s needs
- Applies the Category Management process to the development of the Source plans
- Engages stakeholders at all levels to ensure support on recommended sourcing strategy
- Not afraid to challenge, where appropriate and in a constructive manner
- Responsibility for assigned categories and developing sourcing strategies
Skills and experience required
- Global procurement experience
- Indirects categories experience
- Strong experience in supplier relationship management, ensuring you seek value for money deals with suppliers who are committed to delivering a high service
- To demonstrate an agile approach with the ability to work successfully on multiple projects at different stages, effectively prioritising tasks
- Strong organisational skills with a high attention to detail
- To be self-motivated and an active collaborator, sharing ideas and working cohesively with the wider team
- You will have proven experience leading effective sourcing initiatives from initial conception through to commercial and contractual closure
Salary and Benefits:
